Jacobus Staininger's violin was crafted in 1787 in a German workshop alongside two other violin makers. Staininger marked his initials in pencil on the back, distinguishing his work from that of the other two makers. This violin is quite rare and is sure to delight both collectors and musicians. Throughout its nearly 240 years, the instrument has undergone several repairs, including cracks in the top and a soundpost patch. All repairs have been assessed and are in excellent condition. This violin's beautifully sweet and mature tone makes it an exceptional choice for orchestral or chamber music settings.
